Born in Kensington, London. As a child I moved to a council estate in a London overspill town in Hampshire.
From an early age I was interested in drawing and later painting. Not a fan of school I left with just one qualification...Art. I left School at 15 and started an apprenticeship in hairdressing. I qualified and opened my first salon a couple of years later. Parallel to my hairdressing, I followed a career in the antiques industry...Running my businesses and busy family life restricted my time to paint as much as I would have liked. I semi retired to the Devon coast in 2016..... During lockdown, I started my passion for painting again, this time with oils.... I am a self taught artist and have now been successful in showcasing my work in Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset. My work is available to view and purchase in Bridport, Bath and Birmingham...and I have also gained recognition at international level . I work from my studio in Seaton, Devon where you are welcome to come and browse and chat. You can also find me occasionally on Bridport Saturday market, near the Bull on East St.
I now have an increasingly growing network of clients and contacts, and although there may be a wait, I am more than happy to discuss possible commissions.
I believe good quality original art should be accessible and affordable to everyone. I would rather see space on my walls, than dust on my frames. I like to paint outside the box, with the emphasis being on quirky and nostalgia....I specialise in still life and food.....but with a twist !!
I consider the Pre Raphaelite movement one of the most true to form art endeavours of the 19th century. The artists and their work have been for many years an inspiration to me. I aspire to their ideology and romanticised thinking. And as of late my interest and emotions have been stimulated by the painting and the history behind "Salvator Mundi" by Leonardo da Vinci.
